On Thursday 19th March 2026 Niviera organised Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training for the first group event for 2026 in partnership with the NHS Charitable Trust. Niviera is a member of the Equals IW Friends and Family Group and the IW Indonesian Community.
Sadly in the UK less than one in ten people survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. By teaching the community what to do in a medical emergency hopefully it will increase those survival rates.
A total of 15 group members came together at the Isle of Wight Ambulance Training and Community Response Services (ATCoRS) Centre in Newport on the island. They took part in a very informative workshop learning about CPR. This is a life-saving emergency procedure used when a person's heartbeat or breathing has stopped. CPR involves chest compressions and rescue breaths to maintain blood flow and oxygenation to vital organs until professional medical help arrives.

The CPR course content was organized into structured sections to guide us through essential concepts step by step. Instructional materials, visual aids, and interactive elements reinforced learning and retention. We all gained knowledge, skills and confidence in what to do should an emergency situation arise where CPR is needed to save a life.
